As usual, each beginning of new year brings us a mixture of expectations, resolutions and challenges, especially in terms of technological advances. This 2025, we start a period of accelerated transformation, where emerging technologies such as generative artificial intelligence, digital twins and post-quantum cryptography are shown to the world as tools that will transform the way we understand business and the way we live and connect with the world.

From my perspective, as the leader of a company that is committed to technology, solving complex problems, these innovations are not just futuristic concepts. These are practical tools that already lead to a difference and above all, represent opportunities for Mexico to demonstrate its technological involvement and its avant-garde position. Let’s review some of this year’s groundbreaking developments.

Innovations: Digital Twins: A New Reality in Real-Time

Digital twins are nothing more than virtual replicas of physical objects, processes, or systems that use real-time data to simulate, analyze, and optimize their operation. These are tools that allow you to predict failures, improve efficiency and test risk-free scenarios in sectors such as manufacturing, construction and urban management.

This idea of creating virtual replicas of physical objects is not at all new, although its real-time application is currently reaching impressive levels. In some industries, digital twins enable detailed simulations that optimize processes, detect failures before they occur and significantly reduce costs.

This year, at Global Media Investment we will explore the use of this technology applied in infrastructure and urban analysis projects, integrating real-time data that helps our clients make more informed and accurate decisions. Imagine the potential of a Mexico where our cities can manage resources more efficiently thanks to this technology.

Generative Artificial Intelligence: The Future of Personalization

If there is one technology that is truly leading the pack, it is generative artificial intelligence. Its applications range from the creation of original content to product design and the personalization of customer experiences. At our company, we have begun to integrate these tools to develop marketing and predictive analytics strategies that respond directly to our clients’ needs.

A clear example is what I have been talking about in my previous columns: its impact on tourism; with generative AI, companies can offer completely personalized itineraries, anticipating traveler preferences with a previously unimaginable precision. And this is something that not only improves the user experience, but, among its many possibilities, also opens the door to new data-driven business models.

Post-Quantum Cryptography: The New Frontier of Security

Given today’s interconnectivity, digital security is a growing priority, and quantum computing poses some challenges and of course, equal parts solutions. Post-quantum cryptography is being developed as an answer to protect information in this new era.

Of course, from my role I see this technology as a preventive measure, but I go further: at the same time, I see it as a strategic investment to ensure business continuity. At Global Media Investment we are working on the implementation of advanced protocols to prepare our clients for the immediate future, in which security is going to be more critical than ever.

The most exciting thing about these innovations is how they are starting to integrate into our daily lives. By this year 2025, smartphones will no longer just be communication devices, but advanced health monitoring tools, capable of detecting anomalies and recommending treatments in real time. On the other hand, mixed reality promises to transform the way we collaborate, learn and work remotely, creating immersive environments that will eliminate physical barriers.

Mexico has the capacity to be a leader in the adoption of these technologies, but the road is not without challenges; from the lack of technological infrastructure in some regions to the need to train specialized talent, the difficulties are genuine. However, I firmly believe that with the right vision and partnerships between the public and private sectors, we can overcome these barriers and leverage these innovations to boost our competitiveness.

Conclusion

At Global Media Investment, we are committed to leading this change, collaborating with companies and governments to integrate technological solutions that not only optimize processes, but also serve to generate a positive impact on society.

“The future” is not a distant concept; it is happening now. And the disruptive innovations of 2025 offer us the opportunity to transform our reality, improving the quality of life and optimize the way we do business. However, their success will depend on our ability to embrace them responsibly, ethically and with vision. This is the time to act, explore and lead with purpose. 2025 bring us unique opportunities and it is up to us to make the most of them.
