The Rubell Museum in Miami has announced three new exhibitions set to debut during Miami Art Week. These exhibitions will showcase works from the museum’s resident artist, Vanessa Raw, alongside recent acquisitions and notable pieces from its contemporary art collection.
Vanessa Raw’s First Institutional Show in the U.S.
The first exhibition will feature the debut institutional presentation of British artist Vanessa Raw in the United States. Born in 1984, Raw will display large-scale works that explore a dreamlike, exclusively feminine world. The museum describes her work as “an earthly paradise where nature is benevolent and female desire takes center stage.” Raw, a former triathlete, translates her physical experiences into her artwork, creating serene yet autonomous figures on canvas.
Recent Acquisitions Highlight Emerging Artists
The second exhibition will highlight recent acquisitions from seven emerging artists, many of whom will be showcasing their work in a U.S. museum for the first time. This exhibition underscores the Rubell Museum’s commitment to identifying and supporting emerging talent. Featured artists include Emmanuel Louisnord Desir, Omari Douglin, Patrick Goddard, Michelle Uckotter, February James, Murjoni Merriweather, and Olaolu Slawn.
