Symeria T. Hudson is the driving force behind United Way Miami as its President and CEO since August 2022. With nearly 30 years of leadership experience across various industries, Symeria brings a unique blend of global expertise and local commitment to the organization, positioning it for a new phase of growth and transformation.

Symeria T. Hudson and a Career Defined by Leadership and Innovation

Before joining United Way Miami, Symeria led Chapman Partnership, a prominent nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting homeless individuals and helping them achieve self-sufficiency. During her tenure as President and CEO, she made significant strides in expanding the organization’s impact on the Miami community.

Symeria’s experience extends beyond the nonprofit sector. Prior to moving to Miami, she worked in London as President of global franchises and Head of Research and Development for ConvaTec, a major player in the medical technology field with a $1.8 billion portfolio.

Her career in the healthcare sector includes a 15-year track record of driving innovation and strategy for companies such as Baxter International Inc. and Hospira. Additionally, she has a rich background in financial services, insurance brokerage, and consumer goods, where she honed her expertise in strategy, marketing, and finance.

Symeria’s leadership is grounded in her passion for driving growth and improving profitability. She has successfully developed and implemented commercial strategies, launched new products, and led large-scale initiatives in both the U.S. and Europe. As a board member of MTF Biologics, UFP Technologies, and Revival Healthcare Partners, Symeria continues to contribute her expertise to a wide range of sectors.

At United Way Miami, Symeria is focused on nurturing the organization’s core values of collaboration and community support. Her vision for the future is centered on empowering local residents and expanding the nonprofit’s capacity to address the evolving needs of Miami’s diverse population.

Symeria holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a bachelor’s degree from Alabama A&M University. In her free time, she enjoys running and has completed 13 Chicago marathons.
