Super Bowl boosts Miami’s economy with world-class tourism and events

The Super Bowl in Miami not only excites soccer fans, but also generates a significant economic impact on the city. According to David Whitaker, President and CEO of the Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau, February is one of the busiest months for tourism. This year’s Super Bowl is no exception.

The Super Bowl boosted everything from local businesses to Michelin-rated restaurants and attractions in Miami, such as the Everglades or some of the beaches Miami has to offer. With 84% hotel occupancy and nearly 2.5 million arrivals at Miami International Airport, Miami is without a doubt a premier destination for sporting events.

Visitors and locals enjoyed a wide range of activities, from massive events such as the Verizon FanFest at Hard Rock Stadium to unique experiences at local bars and restaurants.

Other events included Zey Zey, which offered an unlimited oyster party, and Biscayne Bay Brewing Company, which hosted a craft beer buffet. The Fontainebleau Miami Beach hosted a Maxim magazine event, which had a giant screen to watch the game, plus Super Bowl-themed giveaways and food.

Miami, known for its energy, diversity and passion for sports, has hosted the Super Bowl 11 times. Its sunny weather, world-class facilities and championship teams make it an ideal destination for events like the SuperBowl, a world-class event. On top of this, Miami, according to Google’s 2024 Year in Search report, Miami is the third most trending travel destination.

Super Bowl 2025 proved once again why Miami is a leading destination for sporting events and luxury tourism. With record hotel occupancy, an extensive event offering and a strengthening local economy, the city continues to attract visitors from around the world.
