Amazon signed a lease at Wynwood Plaza, making it the largest in the district’s history. The company will occupy 4,676 square metres in the mixed-use complex, which combines office, residential and retail space. This move reinforces Miami‘s position as a hub for technology and investment companies.
The development, which is in its final stages of construction, includes a 12-storey tower with 509 luxury flats and several retail options. Other tenants include Marcelo Claure‘s investment firm and the law firm Weitz & Luxenberg. The project is being developed by L&L Holding Co. and Oak Row Equities, with Claure’s active participation as an investor.
Wynwood, a Neighbourhood in Transformation and the Attraction of Miami
Amazon‘s arrival in the Wynwood neighbourhood highlights the growth of the area, traditionally known for its warehouses and art murals. Today, Wynwood has become a thriving center for office and residential development, just as other big-name companies, such as Peter Thiel’s Founders Fund and Spotify, have committed to establishing their headquarters in the area.
The Wynwood Plaza office tower is designed to provide an innovative work environment, offering amenities such as a fitness centre, golf simulator, private terraces and conference rooms. Amazon’s move reflects the growing demand for modern workspace in Miami, which remains an attractive market despite the post-pandemic decline in office demand.
