Donald Trump said that TikTok could continue operating in United States (U.S.) for at least a while.
The U.S. president-elect express this position after that he received billions of views during his presidential campaign.
“I think we’re going to have to start thinking about it because, you know, we went to TikTok, and we had a great response with billions and billions and billions of views,” said at the weekend.
“They brought me a chart, and it was a record, and it was so beautiful to see, and as I looked at it, I said, ‘Maybe we need to keep this thing for a while,” told Donald Trump to his followers at the annual gathering organized by the conservative group Turning Point.
The Senate passed a law in April requiring ByteDance, TikTok’s Chinese parent company, to divest from the app for national security reasons.
A light of hope exist for the social network with an evaluation that have to do the Supreme Court. If the authorities doesn’t rule in favor of ByteDance, the platform could be banned in the United States on January 19.
